Our Safeguarding Team
The SBMAT Local Governing Committee oversees safeguarding at Saint Nathaniel’s Academy, ensures legal compliance, and promotes a safe environment for pupils and staff.
All governors complete annual safeguarding training, including online safety, to ensure they understand their safeguarding responsibilities and legal duties. This helps the LGC apply their training and assess the effectiveness of the safeguarding culture, policies, and processes at Saint Nathaniel’s Academy.

Children who do a lot to help look after a family member who is sick, disabled or has a mental health condition are Young Carers. Most Young Carers look after one of their parents or care for a brother or sister. You may have to help the person you look after or take care or your brother and sisters, so you don’t get much time for going out or being with your friends. Being a Young Carer sometimes makes things difficult at school too. North Staffs Carers is here to help Young Carers.

FGM is a very upsetting and distressing experience and it’s important to remember that it’s wrong and you don’t need to suffer alone.
FGM happens when a girl’s private parts are removed or altered. FGM is abuse, and it’s illegal in the UK. If you or someone you know is worried about FGM, you can talk to Childline. Our counsellors are here to support you.
