Collective worship at St. Nathaniel’s Academy is designed to nurture students’ spiritual, moral, and cultural awareness. Our daily act of worship is led by our school teachers, school leaders or members of the local clergy. Members of our Worship Team in school, as well as our Peer Chaplains, also help to support and deliver collective worship. Celebration worships take place during the week where children’s achievements and values are celebrated, as well as opportunities for worship through song.

In our Early Years setting we teach and deliver, ‘Jack in the Box’, collective worship lessons and singing. We teach worship through singing, stories, thinking time and prayers.

In our classrooms we have reflection areas where we can look at the bible, religious artefacts, read and write prayers. The children are taught to be mindful, reflective, respectful, courteous and kind towards others.

Take a look at the gallery below of our reflection areas and RE displays.

In Early Years we will be learning about four key texts from the Bible:

Noah’s Ark

The Wise and the Foolish Man

The Lost Sheep

Jonah and the Whale

Nursery – Noah’s Ark

Reception – Jonah and the Whale and The Lost Sheep

Year 1 – Joseph and the Coat of Many Colours and David and Goliath

Year 2 – Daniel in the Lions’ Den and Moses and the Red Sea

Year 3 -The Prodigal Son and The Good Samaritan

Our Peer Chaplains support around school by listening and talking to children who may need someone to talk to. They also take part in the delivery of some of our collective worships.
